Welcome!
I would like to use this blog to give people some useful information. I have multiple practice areas, but immigration needs updates most. You cannot rely on your friend's already old experience.
How we, immigration lawyers, obtain these information? It is through the American Immigration Lawyers Association. You cannot be a member unless you are an attorney in good standing. I can hardly think of its substitution no matter how large the law firm is. What I'm trying to say is, this area really needs expertise and updates which non-member does not have access. You should only hire a lawyer practicing immigration very seriously.
"The beauty of immigration laws is that they change so quickly. Like once a week, something changes like where to file, etc. You have always something to learn." That's what I said to my classmate at the conference.
"Why is it the beauty?"
"Well....You never get bored. There is always something to learn"
